Mark Calder joined IBM Rational in 2000, after a 20 year career with BAe Systems where he progressed from software developer through to Configuration Manager.
During his 9 years as a Senior Technical Consultant with IBM Rational he has worked with a large number of Corporate and Government clients, advising them on the best choice of tools and then partnering them to successful implementation and institutionalised usage of effective toolsets.
Predominantly centring on Configuration and Change Management Processes (using ClearCase and ClearQuest), which provide the backbone for many other core business processes. This has included tailoring and delivery of customer training, mentoring, training the trainers, Process Design, Documentation and Embedding (including Disaster Recovery), data migration and tools rollout, and environment design (single and multi site).
Whilst Lamri were engaged on partnering a large government agency to achieve CMMI ML2, Mark was on a simultaneous engagement with the client to develop and implement end to end change and configuration management.
By working in unison, Lamri and IBM Rational developed an end to end solution for these areas that not only helped the client meet the requirements of CMMI ML2, but also made the processes less labour intensive, whilst providing functionality to deliver “evidence” of process performance for a number of standards.
