Clive Benton
Resource and Maintenance Manager, Land Registry
Clive Benton joined Land Registry in 1982, working at its Tunbridge Wells and Portsmouth offices before moving to Plymouth to pursue a career in IT.
During his 17 years at Land Registry's IT business unit, Clive has worked on project management of large deployments, been a small-systems technician and application programmer.
On moving to a senior management role, Clive took over the project management of implementing CMMI ML2 within the IT Development arm of Land Registry's IS Group.
At this time it was important to give the project a much-needed "shot in the arm" and provide tangible outputs to help the project gather momentum. This consisted of an intense process capture and definition phase, mobilising internal and external resources to deliver clear, consistent process artefacts and measurements for the ML2 process areas, and setting the groundwork for the next phases of embedding and institutionalisation.
Being able to work closely with trusted partners in this intense phase was a key enabler to the successful delivery of these outputs.
