Dr.Laurence James

Dr. Laurence James is a successful software solutions architect, with over 25 years experience in systems engineering, gained from working across a variety of industry sectors, from Mil-Aero through Automotive to more recently, Finance and Insurance. He graduated in "Physics" and holds both an M.Sc and Ph.D. in "Computer Science". He began his IT career writing "compiler code-generators", before moving into Oracle-based application development and subsequently specializing in systems analysis, requirements engineering and agile development techniques. He has been a regular contributor to the "International Council On Systems Engineering" (INCOSE) and has written many papers on aspects of requirements management and process improvement. He joined IBM in 2004.

He is currently an IBM certified "IT Specialist" and is also the "UK & Ireland Rational Brand Architect". He works within the IBM Rational software services team where he is responsible for leading the design and deployment of strategic IBM Rational solutions.
